GSXR-1000 Drag Bike

GSXR-1000 Drag Bike

For the past few months we have been helping Brendyn with his GSXR-1000 Drag Bike. It has been a steady progression of getting faster and faster with each modification. His consistency and the hours of testing on track and on the dyno have helped us gauge what works and what doesn't work in the pursuit of speed!

As a short wheelbase bike (Standard Swingarm) Brendyn was easily able to get into the high 9's across the 1/4 mile. at this point we had only tuned the bike with some high octane race fuel and removed the OEM slipper clutch with a Brocks Performance clutch mod.

In the pursuit of more power we tried another race fuel blend which has a higher oxygen content than the one we were already using. But unfortunately after some extensive dyno testing and a couple of test passes it proved to be of no benefit at this time, we will re visit it later on when we have more compression or boost as the fuel is more effective as cylinder pressure increases. (Brendyn needs to decide whether he wants to go for Naturally Aspirated or Forced Induction ion the future)

The next step was fitting the DME Aluminium Swingarm, we setup an account with the DME Team over in the States and got a Custom Swingarm made for the GSXR-1000. Fitted with a built in air tank, Brendyn was able to get a super clean look with all of the air lines and fittings packaged away neatly for the MPS Air Shifter.

Now that he is able to launch the bike harder off the line, Brendyn has dropped into the mid to low 9's with plans to go faster as we keep on improving on the power and geometry of the bike.
